There are a few simple steps to receiving God’s forgiveness and
salvation for your sins. It’s as simple as ABC:
A “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God,” Romans 3:23.
Every person is a sinner. No one is exempt. Our sins separate us from God. They condemn us in front of Him.
B “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved…”, Acts 16:31.
Jesus is God’s salvation to mankind. This belief is not head knowledge. It requires faith, believing with all your heart. To the point that you are willing to change the direction you are living your life. Turning toward God, instead of away from Him.
C “If you Confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved,” Romans 10:9,10:13.
This is simply speaking to God and asking Him to save you from yourself. It is a prayer.
Out of this prayer of confession, repentance is required. Repentance is turning from the way you live your life and living it towards God, with God.
You become a new creation. 2 Cor. 5:17
After you have received Christ as your Savior, I would encourage you to tell someone immediately.
Then, go to a New Testament church to follow the Lord in the next steps of the Christian walk with Christ. These include baptism, learning about church membership and what is expected from God in your new life. It also includes how to read and study the Bible, how to pray, and how to serve.
Don’t be overwhelmed.
It is a wonderful maturing process that will slowly help you become what God desires for you to be.
